THE HONG KONG CONVENTION CENTRE INVITES THOUSANDS ACROSS A BAY OF SHIMMERING LIGHTS AND TALL GLEAMING BUILDINGS. HERE, OVER 80 TRADE SHOWS ARE HELD TO INVITE BUYERS AND ENTREPRENEURS INTO A HALL OF EXCITING DEVELOPMENTS AND NEW IDEAS. FROM WEDDINGS, TO WINE TO ELECTRONICS, YOU’LL FIND ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING, EVERY YEAR.
The HK Trade and Electronics Show recently passed over the 13th – 16th of October. The show was busy in the days leading up to the grand opening, with business employees clocking long hours to ensure the floor had been laid correctly, the lights were working, the televisions in sync, and the displays set to wow. It is incredible to think that the convention centre, one of the largest in the world, and totaling an impressive 83,000 square metres and 92,000 square metres of rentable space is going all night and all day to prepare for the world recognized event.
On the morning of the 13th, you wouldn’t have suspected a thing. All the booths appeared immaculate, sales assistants bright and energetic, the aisles clean and clutter-free. The following days continued in the same manner with plenty business discussions being made in the meeting rooms adjoining the booths. It is an interesting state of affairs as an on looker, an observer without agenda, to see the potential in every booth that exceeds the size of the Hong Kong Convention Centre itself.
Once particular booth really stood out – the SodaSparkle Stand. Not only because they were handing out free samples but because their product excels leaps and bounds in front of the traditional market, which is left behind in the wake of its successor. The Soda drinks market is slowly becoming obsolete – as now – we can make soda at home. It’s strange when society does the full 360 and returns to the good old days with the assistance and progress of modern technology and design.
I for one, can’t wait to start making my own home made lemonade, cola and lychee soda straight from the kitchen!
