Take 3 is a not-for-profit organization that was formed in 2009, spearheaded by passionate environmental activist Tim Silverwood. The clean beach initiative aims to raise awareness around water pollution and encourage people to assume individual responsibility when it comes to our shared environment.
In essence, the organization asks visitors and users of beaches and waterways to simply take 3 pieces of rubbish with them when they leave. They also encourage communities and individuals to use less plastic and to consciously recycle.
Take 3 aims to expand their message from the shores of Australia to the rest of the world through reaching out to other environmental organizations with similar missions.
Ocean pollution, unsustainable fishing and plastic pollution are major environmental issues that are quickly depleting natural habitats and wildlife. Inspiring the individual to take action and to assume responsibility for the cleanliness of our environments is core to the success of this initiative.
Choose to take responsibility, to take action and to take 3.
